Back-to-School Purchase & Distribution Schedule

In Uganda, a School Term typically occurs every 3 months of the year. Students start a new term in February, May and September. The Aliyiinza team has designed a schedule to ensure every child is equipped when the term starts.

First Term : February – April

Purchases: January

  • School bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, uniforms, shoes, hygiene kits (especially for girls).
  • Bulk buying to secure best prices before school opening.

Late January – First week of February- Distribution:

  • Supplies are delivered to schools and community centers before classes begin.
  • Goal: Ensure every child starts the year confident and ready to learn.
Second Term : May – August

Purchases: Mid-April

  • Replenish worn-out supplies, replace lost items, and provide additional books for advancing subjects.

Distribution: Last week of April – First week of May

  • Supplies distributed before the start of the new term.

Goal: Maintain momentum and prevent mid-year dropouts caused by lack of materials.

Third Term : September – November

Purchases: Mid-August

  • Final replenishment for the academic year, including exam materials like mathematical sets and extra writing supplies.

Distribution: Last week of August – First week of September

  • Supplies delivered before final term starts.

Goal: Equip students for their last term and national exams, ensuring they finish the year strong.

Special Note on Timing

The last two weeks of each term are reserved for testing, so our distribution happens before classes officially start to maximize learning time and keep students focused.
